Tomorrow is the big day, working on my last half a gallon of cold water through the night! Running a half marathon has been on my New Year’s resolution for the last two years and a few months ago I finally decided to act on this big goal. It is a little past 10 PM on the night before the Virginia Beach Rock ‘n’ Roll Half marathon, we spent the morning at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, loading up on energizing Gu and Sports Beans, also purchased the cutest Hippie headband since my Sweaty band has started to slip, my favorite purchase however was the water resistant sports belt to hold my energizing gels, beans, thirst quenching gum and phone for tomorrow. Finished foam rolling, my sweet hubby packed my bag along with my bib number, camera, recovery snacks for after the race and race information for them to entertain themselves during my 13.1 mile run. It hasn’t quite hit me yet that I will be running the big race tomorrow, perhaps carb loading is clouding my judgement or perhaps my yoga meditating techniques are working. Either way I am really looking forward to that special time I get to spend with my thoughts coupled with the amazing people sharing the road, great Rock ‘n’ Roll music., and the life-alternating experience this will be! My estimated race time is 2 hours and 45 minutes, I promised myself to run, walk or crawl but I will finish, that alone will be my victory.
silly iPhone picture of us three ready to rock and roll! got plenty of funky stares at the beach specially from kids from having my knee taped for the run, it really makes all the difference
